England Women will take on India Women in the second ODI on Saturday, July 19. The visitors won the first ODI by four wickets on the back of a splendid unbeaten knock by all-rounder Deepti Sharma. Chasing targets has always been a bit of a hurdle for the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side. However, in the first ODI, Deepti held her calm and enabled a smooth run chase for India.
With the ODI World Cup just two months away, the visitors have almost locked in the first Playing XI combination. Now, it's just about maintaining that consistency and form leading into the global event. Meanwhile, for the hosts, inconsistency has been the problem. While in patches, they have shown brilliance, collectively, they have failed to play as a unit. While skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt and Sophie Eccelstone have been pillars in batting and bowling, respectively, the rest have not been up to the mark when it matters the most.
