Cricketer-turned-expert Wasim Akram, who always speaks his heart out, has stated that whether India play Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 tournament or not, "the game must go on". The Continental Cup will be played from September 09 to 28 in Dubai & Abu Dhabi, featuring eight teams. India are the defending champion, and are placed in Group A, which comprises India, Pakistan, UAE, & Oman, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, & Hong Kong.
Notably, India is also the official host of the Asia Cup; however, matches of all IND vs PAK games will be played at neutral venues for three years, as per mutual agreement between the two boards - BCCI & PCB. The Suryakumar-led India will kick off their campaign on September 10 against hosts UAE, followed by the high octane match against Pakistan on September 14, to be played in Dubai. The two Asian giants can clash two more times, if they manage to reach the finals of the Continental Cup.

The Super 4 stage will feature the top two teams from each group. If India manages to hold the top position, all their matches will be held in Dubai. However, if they end up second on the points table, then one match will be played in Abu Dhabi and two in Dubai.
"Asia Cup schedule is out, there is backlash. But we in Pakistan are calm. We will be fine whether we play or don't play. The game must go on," Akram said on the Stick With Cricket Podcast.

"Politics apart, I am not a politician. They are patriotic about their country; we are patriotic about ours. Let's not go below the belt. Talk about the triumphs of your country; the same goes for Pakistan, and the same goes for India. It's easier said than done."
