Anybody Can Run Through And Get Wickets - Jasprit Bumrah On Indian Bowling Attack vs England

Speaking to Michael Clarke On Beyond 23 YouTube channel, the Indian pacer opened up on the upcoming Test series. He said that playing in England is always a challenge while adding that the biggest challenge in England is bowling with the soft ball.

"Playing in England is always a different challenge. I always love bowling with the Dukes ball. But I don't know how much the Dukes ball is doing right now because there's always constant changes to the ball. But the weather, the swinging conditions. And then when the ball becomes soft, there's always a challenge. So I always look forward to playing in England" Bumrah said.

The Indian pacer also said that the other pacers in the Indian Test squad can run through the England batting lineup, especially with the kind of attacking cricket, they are playing in recent times. Along with Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Mohd Siraj, Akash Deep and Shardul Thakur are part of the side as specialist pacers. Mohammed Shami was snubbed due to his recent form and fitness concerns.

"They're playing an interesting style of cricket which is interesting because I don't really understand it too much," Bumrah said. "But as a bowling unit, we always feel confident that when the batters are being ultra-aggressive, on a given day, anybody could run through and get wickets." he added saying.

India will be playing a five-match Test series from June 20 to July 4 and it is unlikely that Bumrah will play all the five Test matches. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar eluded to the same when he named India's Test side for the series citing concerns about Bumrah's workload management.

"I don't think he [Bumrah] will be available for all five Tests, the physios and the doctors have told us," Agarkar said while announcing India's Test squad on Saturday. "Whether it's four or three [Tests], we will see how the series goes and how his body can take the workload. Needless to say how important he is, even if he's fit for three or four Tests, he's going to win us a few Test matches. So we are just glad that he is fit and that little setback that he had in Australia wasn't too bad" Agarkar said on Bumrah.

With India having a packed schedule till February 2026 with India and Sri Lanka co-hosting the T20 World Cup next year, Bumrah said that he wants to play all the formats and at the same time wants to keep himself fresh.
