India's batters gained the maximum points in the latest ICC Rankings for the batters. In the first Test match in Leeds, the visiting batters had five centurions - Rishabh Pant (2), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kl Rahul. The two maximum gainers from the first Test are Pant and England opener Ben Duckett. The India wicketkeeper-batter became just the second keeper in the history to score tons in both innings.
The southpaw has moved to career-best seventh in the ICC Rankings, while Duckett, who claimed player of the match award for his terrific (149) moved five places to be placed eighth in the rankings. The southpaw's teammate Ollie Pope also moved up three places to be 19th in the rankings. India skipper Shubman Gill also moved five rungs to be placed 20th. Legendary batter Joe Root continues to occupy the top spot, followed by vice-captain Harry Brook in the second position.

Jasprit Bumrah continues to occupy top spot in ICC Rankings for bowlers
In the bowling rankings, Jasprit Bumrah continues to be at the pole position after taking five fer in the first innings. England skipper Ben Stokes also gained from the Leeds showing as he moved up fifth on the list for Test all-rounders. The Southpaw took four wickets in the first innings and also chipped in with useful contributions with bat in hand.

The second Test between England and India will be played in Edgbaston on July 2. The visitors would be hoping to make a strong comeback and aim to level the series.
