"Obviously, it's disappointing," Vettori said at the post-match press conference. "We came in with high hopes, but we haven't been consistent enough with our performances. We've talked about not being able to put together a complete game, and today was shaping up to be one. It's frustrating that we couldn't finish it, but that's the nature of cricket."
The exit of Sunrisers Hyderabad was a significant letdown, especially as they were expected to contend for their second title with a powerful lineup after missing out on the 2023 finals. However, the season has been marred by inconsistency, and Vettori acknowledges that this inconsistency has led to their knockout.
"We’ve got to accept where we are. We’ve had moments where we’ve shown our potential, but we haven’t backed it up game after game," he stated.
