However, with board might consider changing the venue if rain threat looms large when the time comes. One of the reasons why the BCCI decided to remove the final from Kolkata is the arrival of the monsoon season in West Bengal. The board is closely monitoring the movement of the monsoon season. As per reports, it is unlikely to rain in Ahmedabad in early June.
Meanwhile, Mumbai remains the shortlisted venue for Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator. However, the board is yet to confirm the same given the preset of monsoon in the state of Maharashtra. With the city experiencing heavy rainfall in the recent past, the BCCI is playing the waiting game before finalisng the venue.
Cricbuzz further reported that BCCI is open to hosting the Eliminator and the Qualifier 2 in the capital city of Delhi or even Jaipur or Lucknow if there is no rain threat in these cities.
