Yuzvendra Chahal's close friend RJ Mahvash has shared a heartfelt post on her Instagram account for him and Punjab Kings (PBKS). The Shreyas Iyer-led side lost the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on June 03 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both these were vying to win their maiden IPL trophy since the inception of the IPL in 2008. RCB's 18-year wait ended, and Virat Kohli finally fulfilled his dream of winning the elusive trophy for a franchise he has given his blood & sweat.

However, as it happens in sports, there is always one winner and a loser. PBKS, who were equally desperate as RCB, fell short of 190 runs target by just six runs. Throughout the IPL 2025 season, the Iyer-led side fought like warriors. They also defeated the mighty MI in the Qualifier 2. However, one man fought with immense belief and fractured ribs - Chahal. For the unversed, the leg spinner fractured his ribs while playing the second match. Despite the blow, he continued playing for PBKS, giving his all.

Not only that, Chahal also fractured his finger during the second half of the IPL and missed a few games before he played the final against RCB. Overall, the leg spinner had three fractures and yet played with the hope of lifting the trophy for the first time. The RJ mentioned all that on her Instagram Post and saluted Chahal for displaying a warrior spirit.

Yuzvendra Chahal loses his third IPL final despite giving it his all

For the unversed, this was the third final Chahal was playing for the third team. He first played IPL final in 2016 for RCB, which they lost to SRH. Then, Chahal played his second IPL final in 2022 for RR, where his team lost to GT. Last, with PBKS, the leg spinner faced yet another heartbreak. Barring this IPL 2025 season, Chahal had terrific seasons in 2016 and 2022. For the RR in the 2022 season, he also ended up getting the Purple Cap.
