Bhardwaj Sai Sudharsan was born on 15th October 2001 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His father, R. Bharadwaj, was a former national-level athlete who represented the country in the South Asian Games; his mother, Usha Bharadwaj, was a state-level volleyball player. So, it is safe to say that he had his sports genes since birth, and his becoming a sportsman was fate. He has a brother named B. Sairam with whom he shares a close bond. He was raised in Chennai, where his cricketing career began and whose local cricket culture shaped him.
Sudharsan was enrolled on DAV Public School in Chennai, which was a renowned school known for its academics, but not so much for its cricket. Lacking proper involvement, Sudharsan convinced his parents to transfer him to Santhome Higher Secondary School, Chennai, after Class 8, a school which was well-known for its cricket culture. There, he could play more matches, get involved in the game and hone his skills. He went to Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, Chennai, for his B.Com degree and continued to play cricket, balancing his academics. He quickly rose through the ranks in the Tamil Nadu Premier League, showcasing his innate talent and catching the eyes of scouts.
Sudharshan is single, and there is no confirmation of his being involved in any romantic relationships. He keeps his life private and doesn’t want people to speculate about it either. He is solely focused on cricket, which might seem like a correct decision given that he is still quite young and has a long time to grow and develop.
Sudharsan lives in his hometown of Chennai. However, there are no confirmed sources describing his current residence. Rumours suggest that he might own a luxurious house in Chennai, but then again, these are mere speculations. His current net worth estimates are somewhere around Rs 7-8.5 crore, but the figures are just estimations. One thing is for certain is that he keeps his consistency up, his net worth will certainly balloon in the upcoming years. The mainstream media also does not know much about his car collection, but it is speculated that he doesn’t own a large car collection, as of yet.
He is known to follow a strong fitness routine where he wakes up early every morning and undergoes rigorous training and practice sessions, along with hitting the gym. He is a dedicated man who knows he has much more to offer and wants to reach his ceiling as soon as he can.
Sudharsan’s primary obsession in life is cricket - no surprises there. He is known for extending his practice session long enough for coaches to drag him out of the net. His fitness regimen is also quite strict, which ties in nicely with his cricketing aspirations. Outside cricket, he is known to enjoy console gaming whenever he finds the time in between tours and training sessions. He also likes to enjoy good cuisine, dining at restaurants and travelling as well. But it is safe to say that his cricket is probably the biggest part of his life, and he idolises Virat Kohli and other senior players a lot.
Sai Sudharsan’s Instagram handle is @sais_1509 and currently has 1.2M followers on the platform. He usually posts about his IPL performance highlights, team interactions, cricketing moments, training and practice sessions and about his lifestyle. He usually doesn’t post a lot about his personal life, and most of the content is about cricket.

Sai Sudharsan IPL & Franchise Journey
Sai Sudharsan was picked up by the Gujarat Titans in the 2022 IPL auction for Rs 20 lakh, based on his heroics in the TNPL. He wears the jersey number 23 for the IPL side. He made his debut against Punjab Kings on 8th April 2022, after Vijay Shankar was replaced, where he scored a decent 35 runs off 30 balls. He still remains in the Gujarat Titans after they retained him for Rs 8.5 crore in the 202 Mega Auction. His thunderous batting performances claimed the Orange Cap as the highest run scorer of the season at the end of the 2025 season.
Sudharsan’s first noteworthy performance was his 2023 IPL final stint against Chennai Super Kings, where he scored 96 runs - the third-highest ever by an individual in the history of IPL finals - but his team lost the match. He scored his maiden IPL century against CSK in 2024, scoring 103 off 59 balls. His highest-ever individual score in IPL came in the 2025 season after a scintillating knock against Delhi Capitals, where he scored 108* off 61 balls. Sudharsan’s international career has just begun as he has only played 3 ODIs for the national team and only one T20I. His ODI debut was against South Africa on 17th December 2023 at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. He scored 55 runs off 33 balls on his debut. He went on to play two more matches, scoring a total of 127 runs with an impressive average of 63.5.
His one and only T20I debut was against Zimbabwe on July 7, 2024 at Harare. He neither batted nor bowled and only took part in fielding, so nothing to write home about. He just got his maiden Test call-up for India against England starting June 20, 2025. It would be interesting to see how he performs.
Sudharsan suffered from a sports hernia in late 2024 and had to undergo surgery in London on 10th December 2024. He missed about a month of the Vijay Hazare Trophy and could only play in one Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy game. His rehabilitation was overlooked by the experts at National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru, where he was put at rest for 2-3 weeks initially after the surgery. Working with the physiotherapists, he underwent core-stability exercises to recover. He came back to pre-season training at the Gujarat Titans camp to get ready for IPL 2025. And yes, after that, he went on to score the highest runs of the season and claim the Orange Cap. His regimen also included eating a clean and nutritious diet along with net sessions and warm-up practice sessions to get him up to pace.
Not much is known about Sai’s net worth, but the best guesses put it somewhere around Rs 7-8.5 crore. While he doesn’t hold an official BCCI contract yet, he was retained for Rs 8.5 crore by Gujarat Titans in the 2025 IPL Mega Auction, which significantly boosted his net worth. His Orange Cap in the 2025 season bagged him an additional Rs 10 lakh as well. Sudharsan will certainly attract a lot of future sponsors and brands willing to work with him. For now, he has a collaboration with Nike, and indirectly collaborated with Pepsi due to their sponsorship with GT. He is also set to work with RISE Worldwide, which is an Indian sports entertainment and lifestyle company. His endorsement fees are not publicly disclosed, however.
